Our mission is to Inspire, Educate, and Conserve.

This is an urgent mission, amplified by the climate crisis and brought into sharp focus by the covid pandemic. An intact global ecosystem – what we call ‘nature’ – is essential for human well-being and survival. But a catastrophic loss of biodiversity is staring us in the face. Since 1970, we have lost nearly 70% of all the animals, birds, reptiles and marine life across the planet.
The Sacred Nature Initiative employs a unique brand of advocacy to influence people – leaders and citizens – to prioritise nature and wildlife conservation. We want to identify and create novel mechanisms that will change our way of thinking about and interacting with nature.
Our action program
Through the outreach of the SNI founders and our team of influential experts, we will be able to catalyse funding and develop wide-ranging projects. Some of the components of our plan are set out below.
Inspire
Capture people's imagination through imagery and story-telling, inspiring them to reconnect to nature. Everyone around the world can play a part in preserving the wonder of nature’s creativity.
Educate
The future of the planet lies in the hands of younger generations. Crucial to the SNI is collaborating with educational institutions around the world to help improve access to education about the environment and conservation.
Conserve
Forging partnerships with local conservation organizations and communities around the world whose work reflects the ethos of the SNI. Our goal is to support and bring awareness to these organizations, thus increasing their impact.

Spotlights
The Sacred Nature Initiative has Spotlights focusing on one region at a time. During a Spotlight period SNI will provide deeper knowledge and insight into that particular ecosystem, and focus its attention on having the greatest impact possible.
Our first Spotlight is the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem – a region close to Jonathan & Angela’s hearts, and an area they have come to know intimately over the past 40 years. To learn more visit the link below.
